Christiansburg Parks & Recreation Summer Camps

Christiansburg Parks & Recreation is such a valuable resource for our community! Offering a wide range of services and activities for people of all ages, from youth programs and summer camps, sports leagues and fitness classes to cultural events and educational programs. They also provide green spaces for relaxation, outdoor activities, and community gatherings. The Recreation Center features a gymnasium with four full basketball courts, a walking trail, a weight room, a cardio room and much more.   

This clinic is instructed by Lesa Miller, certified 4-H archery instructor. She will also have some assistance from some other 4-H personnel. This is a great way to learn the fundamentals of archery. Details covered include safety, correct equipment usage, proper form, etc. Equipment will be provided, but participants are welcome to use their own if they have it. Montgomery County 4-H also offers a yearly 4-H Shooting Program at Izaak Walton. 

This camp is instructed by the staff and players of the CHS Football program. Come out and learn the fundamental skills needed, to be at your best on the gridiron. As part of the camp, a camp t-shirt is provided. Please bring a water bottle and other necessary equipment with you. 

This camp is instructed by Morgan Taylor, her staff and some of the players from the CHS Volleyball program. They will be teaching the fundamentals of volleyball to all participants. You will get instruction on serving, bumping, setting and spiking. This will be a great way to get children some exercise during the summer season as well as work on their game for the fall season.  

This camp is instructed by the Women’s Basketball staff and players for the Virginia Tech Hokies. More information will be distributed as it comes available. 

This camp is instructed by the Virginia Tech Men's Basketball team and Staff. They will instruct all participants on the fundamentals of the game of basketball through drills and games. This clinic is being instructed by Nicole Epperly. She has been one of our recreation league coaches as well as an AAU coach. Nicole also has experience in coaching high school and some colleges. This will be a great fundamental clinic for your child. Please bring a ball and any other necessary equipment with you.

This event will test your skills in both accuracy and stealth as you and your teammates work to capture the opponent's flags. You will be split up into teams of 5, for the competition. You may bring one of your own nerf blasters with you. We will also have some provided if you don't have one and would like to participate.
